Pirate artist Steve Kimball has been practicing the classical forms of illustration, painting and sculpture since the age of five. Knowing that he wanted to be an artist as a career help set educational goals through public school art classes. Several times young Steve was cited by art teachers for his talent and imagination. By high school age, he had won a National Public Television art contest providing a chance for his work to be professionally published for the first time.

Many other occupational chances gave Steve Kimball the opportunity to become well-rounded in the graphic arts industry from type design and proofreading to electronic pre-press and photo manipulation. Steve graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2001 after over 10 years of part-time attendance, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Publication Design.

Moving from several roles as Art Director in both marketing and printing industries, Steve Kimball became publisher of The Pyrates Way magazine in 2006; his own creation. This has afforded him the opportunity to dive into art with a pirate theme and eventually led to the creation of this website.
Please wind your way through this website and look through the traditional artwork and sculpture that Steve Kimball exhibits at The Pyrates Way booth at pirate festivals and events all over America.
